Robert A. Wilson speaks volumes in Fear Is My Friend, and he makes us fully realize the fact that the second we accept that one thing in life and learn from it, we heal. We are suddenly able to open our mouths, deal with the fear, and rise above it, We are able to express ourselves as individuals and not deal with what the so-called “brilliant others” have to say. In other words, our own individual warrior who’s buried deep inside of us is finally able to rise up and take over. He/she is able to lead us thought the world with courage, strength and backbone that’s made of iron.

When we do this our life becomes lucrative – from the relationship mode to the financial mode – if we take over our own lives and our own destines instead of being ruled over by the ones who say they know how to “fix” things. It is then that we become the masters and mistresses of our own destinies.

No, this not a fairy-tale; this is absolute truth. We have all come up against liars, hateful humans, and people who simply want to roll through life by rolling over others. But Robert A. Wilson’s words change all that. In fact, what he does best is “allow” us to go back to being the people we were. He allows us to let go of the negative and horrific thoughts, and begin again. I let go of history!

The author’s story behind the story. One seasonable cold father’s day, a young man watched as his dad lay dying in a hospital bed from cancer. He begun saying his goodbyes to his dad as he already knew his time was short. Earlier that day the smell of death filled the room and seemed to only be smelled by the young man. The smell only went away after his father passed. The young man never forgot and that smell continued to pop up in his life from time to time with the same outcome of his dad. Years early he smelled it on two friends that passed shortly after. Over the years, he grew into a man. While working as a computers systems manager, the young man began to smell the same smell on one of his co-workers. A month later, his co-worker passed away. In his grief over the loss, he attempted to explain this to his wife. Her first question to him was if he ever smelled it on her. She made him swear to tell her if he ever did. After some time, she changed her mind and made him swear not to tell her of her passing. Time continued to pass and the young man was still unsure of how to cope with this uncommon talent and the losses of those he has come to know and are now gone. He decided to use his limitless imagination and developed this story over the next three years. This is his story.
